About Us

Henry Ling Limited has a rich history, starting life 140 years ago as a commercial printer in Dorchester. Today this historic building, with many original features, is the site of the offices for administration and the Data Manipulation facility. A modern factory on the edge of town is the location of the main manufacturing base.

Henry Ling is a private limited company. We are family owned and managed and currently employ 120 people. We take pride in placing ourselves at the forefront of technology, a good example of this is our JDF enabled production workflow.

The Company has a policy of continual investment in plant and staff training. We have recently invested over £1m in new bindery equipment. Please click on the link to see our complete plant list.

Printed products fall into two main categories: journals and books. On the journal side we work for global commercial journal publishers, learned societies and institutes in addition to a good number of other journal publishers..

We produce books for a wide spectrum of customers including some of the largest publishers in the UK. Our ability to take pdf files through to bound books quickly and efficiently is key for this work. Our expertise in high quality reproduction, particularly halftones, is an important factor in retaining work from academic publishers, archaeological trusts and numerous art galleries.
