Our three Heidelberg Speedmaster 102ZPs are perfecting presses providing huge capacity for perfected mono work and ideal for two colour as required. The sheet size is B1 (8 pages of A4 to view, 16 pages if B5).
Heidelberg
The four colour presses meet our requirements precisely. We have two 1024Ps with a B1 sheet size which matches our mono presses and are primarily used for text work. These can also two colour perfect. The 745P and 742P are B2 which is half the sheet size and is also ideal for that small amount of colour often found in journals and perfect for all covers (two cover spreads to view).
The 745P is a five unit perfecting press with a coater. Covers which require four colour with a single colour inner can be printed in one pass with a protective coating as well. Alternatively special colours can be used in addition to the four colour process.
Our colour presses are all linked to Heidelberg's Imagecontrol which provides automatic colour control of the press using data received from the prepress department. As well as cross referencing the prepress data, Imagecontrol can maintain pre-specified ink densities at the colour bar or match a passed press sheet. Imagecontrol supplements CIP3 which we have had for several years. We were the first UK operation to have this integrated system. This combined with a highly skilled and experienced staff produce high quality work to tight deadlines. For a more in depth description of CIP3 see the Prepress pages.
